The author of the dramatic ballet "The Master and Margarita," based on the novel by Mikhail Bulgakov, is the world-renowned ballet artist Sergei Polunin.
In his new production, he retells the literary masterpiece through the universal language of music, dance, and light. It is a grandiose four-hour show that combines classical, contemporary, and folk dance, sports disciplines, vibrant performances by dramatic actors, elements of punk showmanship, and colorful special effects created using cutting-edge technology.
The composer is People's Artist of the Russian Federation Eduard Nikolaevich Artemyev.
Light design plays a special role in the production. It was created by Russian lighting artist David Misakyan, the author of Russia's largest rock light shows. The premiere performances of the ballet "The Master and Margarita" at Rosa Hall will open the extensive classical music festival "Rosa Khutor. Classics."
The organizer of the "Rosa Khutor. Classics" festival is the charitable foundation of Alexey Aslanov, in collaboration with the Foundation for the Support of Classical Art F.E.S.

The festival "Rosa Khutor. Classics" is a large-scale celebration of musical art that will take place from August 18th to 27th at the venues of the Rosa Khutor mountain resort.
The festival "Rosa Khutor. Classics" is the successor of the 1st Sochi Classical Music Festival, which took place at various venues in Greater Sochi in August 2022.
This year, the festival has expanded its program. It will feature performances by world-renowned opera and ballet stars. The festival will open with the premiere of Sergey Polunin's ballet "Master and Margarita." The musical part of the project will be handled by the Sochi Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Alexey Aslanov, who will present several concerts dedicated to the 150th anniversary of S.V. Rachmaninoff. The orchestra will also accompany a concert by the soloists of the St. Petersburg House of Music (artistic director Sergey Roldugin). In the final days, the audience will be treated to the premiere of the opera "Turandot" in the mountain park "Layzo."
